Easyshims carpet shims

We have a new product - Easyshim carpet shims - fixing your height differences.

Easyshims are for use when installing carpet next to hardwood, ceramic tile, stone and marble floors. They give a flush transition in doorways when there is a difference in height between the surface in one room and another.

When having carpet fitted, ask your fitter for Easyshims, as the alternative is a metal strip that will be constantly hit by vacuum cleaners/toes etc! Easyshims mean any height differences between flooring are smoothed out in a subtle way.

Each shim is 36"/91cm wide with an 8"/200mm ramp. It is available in heights of 6mm, 9mm and 12mm.

Choosing the right shim…Subtract 12mm from the height of the hard floor (standard carpet thickness including gripper)… for thin carpet use thicker shims and for thick carpet use thinner shims.

Fixing Easyshims… fix using ring shank nails or adhesive (when there is under floor heating or concrete). Leave a ¼"/6mm gap between the carpet shim and the hard surface… for thin carpet decrease the gap and for thick carpet increase the gap… Install the gripper on top of the Easyshim maintaining the ¼"/6mm gap. Install underlay and carpet, tucking the carpet into the ¼"/6mm gap. Rub the pins down with a hammer to prevent the pins from poking through. Use side shims where the Easyshim protrudes into a hall way/room.
